Last week I got to be a part of something so special. I still can't wrap my mind around it. My best friend had her first baby. Little Anastasia Pearl Brinkmann. I'm so proud of my best friend. Watching her go through that - I'm not going to lie - it was hard! To see someone you love so much in pain like that. Especially having experienced it myself with my own son, knowing how much the pain hurts. It's unreal. But it was also so beautiful. Seeing how strong my best friend is. What she's capable of. The strength that God placed in her and all women. So empowering. And then once she arrived, seeing the Glory of God displayed. Seeing that beautiful girl for the first time. And seeing her latch for the first time. Needless to say I fought back tears all day, but once she arrived there was no fighting any longer. The happy tears came! And I just let them. It was the most amazing experience. And I hope that this leads to many more birth stories to come!
I love getting to photograph couples and weddings. It makes my heart soar. But every now and then - more often than not- I just gotta snuggle some babes. I've had a few fresh 48's this summer and I've got a couple coming up in the fall. I even have a birth that's supposed to happen any day now!
I couldn't resist sharing little miss Memphis's session with the you all! At just 18 hours after her birth I got to come visit her at the hospital! She's so beautiful and I just adore the name that mom and dad picked out. After I posted her sneak peeks on Facebook, my sister called me up. Come to find out Dad's sister is one of my sister's close friends. Small world!
